Exercise #23

THIS IS THE LAST EXERCISE.

1. What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey? My favorite exercise was the one that I learned about Flickr. I have really enjoyed working with Flickr. I can now send pictures to my friends a lot easier then emailing them. It is also nice that if my friends find a picture that they like they can order it off the website. This is good because I have a friend who is moving to Japan and it will make seeing pictures of her family easier.

2. How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals? It has helped because I have now learned more about the different technologies that are out there that I did not know about.

3. Were there any take-a-ways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you? I am not the type of person who enjoys technology very much so I was surpriced when I was done with this program that there were some things that I really did enjoy working with and will most likely use again.

4. What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept? I did not enjoy that every time I did an exercise I had to regester on a website and my username was different everytime so I had a hard time remembering wheat they all were. I also had a hard time because I work for the government so a lot of the websites that I had to go to I had to use a different computer to look at them because they were restricted.

5.If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you choose to participate? I would not participate in full I might look at the different exercises and see if there is one that I wanted to learn about. But I am sure that it there is another discovery program that my director will use it as a training like he did this one. So yes I am sure I will participate in another one of these programs.

Exercise # 22

This is another exercise that I did not like. It was hard to search for what I wanted to find. I typed in Harry Potter and did not get any of the Harry Potter Books. I am not very impressed with this website. I like it when the books are brocken up into catagories.

Exercise #21

Well one of the Podcast sites that was listed is being closed down as of the end of October. I am not sure about these Podcasts I don't know how much I will use these if ever.

I don't not like this any more. I could not figure out how to get a podcast to post on this blog so I am stoping this exercise it is frustrating me to much.

Exercise #20

YouTube:

I had a hard time staying on track with this one I had a lot of fun looking at the different videos and playing with them. I was disapointed I was looking for the video of my wedding song and could not find it.

Ok so this is the new car that I bought. I really like it mostly the back seats and how they fold up or down and the fact that the front seats fold all the way flat. I do not like the trunk it is on the small size for now it is good but once we have kids it will be to small.
Lets see if I did this correctly and if it will post.
I really enjoy YouTube I could spend all day playing with it.

Exercise #15

Ok to be completely honest I had a really hard time focaccing on this exercise. These articals have some good points and views. It will be interesting to see how things turn out and what librarys look like in the future.

Exercise #19

The website that I decided to look at is: http://upcoming.yahoo.com/ I think that this website would be great for most librarys mostly public ones for posting events. I do not think it would be very good for our library because in order to come to our library you have to have a military id or work on the base. You can look up different locations so if you are going on vacation you can look at the area you are going to, to see if there is anything going on that you might like to go to. I did notice that there was not much posted so I am not sure how much this website is acctualy used.

exercise #18

Ok, so the last two blogs were exercise #18 and I thought it was going to be hard to post them on the blog from the websites but it was actualy very easy to do. Which is amazing because I am not very good when given new programs it did not take me very long to figure out how to use these two programs. I had a lot of fun "playing with" learing how to use them. But I must say I enjoyed using Zoho more then google docs.

So, after using Zoho this website is not grabbing my attention. It is a very plan site. It seems to do the same thing. Seems to have the same benefit as Zoho, the fact that you can access your documents from any computer anywhere. I do enjoy that because I have my budget for our finances on our computer at home and I could save it the one of these programs that way if/when I go to my parents house for a long stay I will have access to the information and don't have to carry it around with me and take the chance that it would be stolen.

OK so I like that when I go to change the style of the font it shows me what it looks like before I pick it and Zoho does not do that.

I do not see where you can add pictures or emotions and I did really like that option because I email a lot of pictures to friends and family. If this is true and you can not send pictures then the decision is made I would not use this program I would use Zoho. Now it is just a matter of remembering the website that you have to go to to get your documents.

OK, lets see if I can figure out how to send this to my blog..........

exercise #18

OK, so this program is just like Microsoft word. The neat thing is that if you save stuff it stays on your account so if I need to get to something, that I worked on at home, at my parents house or at work I can just use this program and it will be there. That is if I understand the meaning of this program correctly. I am trying out all of the different fonts. I am having fun figuring out the new program. This program would also be good for students who do not have a lap top because some times if they need to work on a document at another computer that computer may not be the same program or year as the one they started with.
foot in mouth Ok,so I like that you can put an emotion into the text but I am not sure how to make it bigger or if you can. This one is "foot in mouth".

Ok, now I am going to figure out how to post this onto my blog. Lets see how long this takes me!

Exercise #16 and 17

Ok so the wikipedia is a interesting website. I do not like that fact that anyone can change the information that is on the page it makes me wonder how accurite the website is. It is a good way to find information fast and a lot of it too.

The wiki website would be very good for libraries that have book clubs or bigger librarys then ours. I did not get very excited about these particular websites, I don't think I will be using them anytime soon.

Exercise #14

I am not sure I will ever use this technorati website.

Add to Technorati Favorites

Exercise #13

Ok, so this http://del.icio.us is a neat website. It is great to have all of my favorite websites all in one spot so that if I go out of town and want to show someone a website but can't remember the exact way to type it in I can still show them by loging into del.icio.us. I will not most likly use this to often since I mostly just use my home computer but it was fun to learn about it.

Exercise #12

Ok this is going to be a good way for me to remember all the different websites that I liked reading information about when I get pregnate again. I will have all of the websites in one place and be able to access them at any computer that I use.

Exercise #11

My LibraryThing Catalog...
Ok, so I don't really read many different kinds of books. But I do love to read. I see it as my quiet time for just me to get lost in someone elses world.

Exercise #7

Well, technology and I do not really get along very well. I am still learning how to use Myspace and facebook. With myspace I have enjoyed learning how to upload pictures and how to make slide shows so that my friends and family can see new pictures of me and my husband. I have enjoyed using myspace and facebook to get a hold of old friends. I also like the fact that inorder to see what is on my page I have to invite the person as a friend. So I can kind of screen who sees my webpages.

Exercise #6

Ok, so I have a feeling that I will never have a use for making trading cards. It was fun to go through and learn about them and the other things in this exercise.
